On March 5th Ms. Kusonoki and the Band officers stood post and waved signs to encourage family, drivers, and foot traffic, to come in to support the KIS JR Band... and they did! We did great! Many thanks to all the parents that support our children! High five all around -slap-

Aloha parents-
What a wonderful joint concert with Kailua High School Band was last night. The Advanced Band played perfectly under the direction of Ms. Kusonoki. They behaved like true musicians, well mannered, quite, and dignified. Mr. Fu, from the Kailua High School Band, guided his students though the scores beautifully. And when the Jr. Band and High School band united it's efforts... WOW!

The Winter Concert was a success! The kids played awesome, both Beginners and Advanced and what a treat to listen to Mr. Kents' rock group! We also raised money for the Booster, way to go Ms. Kusunoki!   whooo hooo!

On Nov. 10 the band attended the 30th annual Rainbow Invitational festival at the Aloha Stadium. This event marks the final performance of the high school marching band season. All of the schools performed for the parents, but the UH marching band faced and performed for the kids! It takes time, patience, and practice, practice, PRACTICE! to get to a performing level, but what an accomplishment! These awesome high schoolers learn to work hard, learn about TEAM work, and know what dedication is. Hope that the KIS on going students consider Marching Band, an experience you will never regret.

Starting at 7 am Nov. 5th the Advanced Band loaded up parents vans with instruments and bodies to recruit incoming new band members. They headed to Mokapu'u, Kainalu, Aikahi, and Lanikai and what a performance they gave! The elementary students were dancing to the music. Miss Kusunoki had the alumni stand and give a wave to their former school! How quickly our children grow!
